Have You Heard of The Coalition for Youth Ministry Excellence?

Two years ago the Coalition launched with the first cohort of 21 youth workers. The goal was to create a ministry training program that helped youth workers learn to do youth ministry while doing youth ministry.

And two years in I couldn’t be more pleased with what’s happening.

In case you haven’t heard much about what we are up to, let me fill you in a bit.

1. The Coalition for Youth Ministry Excellence is alive and well for fall 2020

We are grateful that the Coalition program is light on its feet and able to quickly adapt to the new realities that Covid-19 has presented us.

With less than 50 students in each class, there is a very good chance we will be able to meet in person, as usual, this year, but even if that’s not the case, we have creative alternative delivery methods that will allow students in the program to stay right on schedule.

2. The Coalition has become the largest vocational youth ministry training program in Canada

There are lots of reasons people are drawn to the Coalition.

The exceptional faculty.

The practical nature of the education.

The affordability of the program.

And the fact that students can (in fact are required to) stay actively involved in their community and ministry.

Our partnership with five academic institutions allows students to earn either a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree by applying their Coalition credits to the program of their choice.

3. The Coalition learning community represents the full range of Next Generation ministry in Canada

Students come from camps, large churches, small churches, youth centres, Christian schools, and community youth ministries like Young Life and Youth for Christ.

Some students are veterans with decades of ministry experience.

Others are just embarking on their journey of youth ministry equipping.

But every one of them is in an actual front line ministry role.

Our students tell us that the richness of being in a community of such diversity is one of the most significant benefits of being part of the Coalition.

4. The class that launches this fall (September 28, 2020) may have a seat for you or someone you know

To find out if you or someone you know qualifies to join the Coalition program, email me (Marv Penner) at marv@youthworker.community so we can explore whether this program would be a good fit and answer any questions you might have.

Of course, you can always visit www.coalitionforministry.com, where many of your questions will be answered.
